Retired Employee Associations

REAs were set up so that people who receive a Scheme pension can keep in touch and meet up to enjoy social and leisure activities and friendship.  

Membership is voluntary and anyone who receives a Company pension may join an REA and become a funded member.

As well as regular meetings, many branches have a variety of social activities, guest speakers, walks, excursions, lunches and dinners - each branch puts on different events and is organised and run on a voluntary basis.  Some branches have websites and many issue regular newsletters. Please contact your local branch direct for details.

Cost of joining

There is a small cost to join - REA members pay £1.00 annual subscription which is deducted from their pension each January; this is matched by a standard contribution of £8.50 from the Company and paid to the branch direct.
